"Dirty John" is a page about a Combat Marine, Vietnam Veteran, Biker. "DJ" was a good friend and this is my way of keeping his memory alive. Check this page out--you might like it--for sure! "G.I. Deathland" is a page I did about the "Who*s" song, by Peter Townsend - Baba O*Riley (Teenage Wasteland) and what it made me think of every time I heard it. Kind of a new styled page for Bammo*s Bunker. Check it out and let me know your oppinion on it ! Check out Bammo*s "The Biker". A poem that tells a little bit about "Bikers". I found this poem in June 2002, in "Full Throttle Magazine", and thought it would make one "Super" page. Check it out, by all means and let me know what you think!! This is a "Memorial Page", dedicated to a "#1 Soldier" and "True Friend". James C. Grafton, you are remembered. This "Memorial Page" was made for a superb "Leader" and a sincere "Person and Friend". Check out this Tribute to Lt.James D.Conn !! Check out "Vietnam Veterans Against The War"! VVAW quickly took up the struggle for the rights and needs of veterans. In 1970, we started the first rap groups to deal with traumatic after-effects of war, setting the example for readjustment counselling at Vet Centers now. We exposed the shameful neglect of many disabled vets in VA Hospitals and helped draft legislation to improve educational benefits and create job programs. VVAW fought for amnesty for war resisters, including vets with bad discharges. VVAW helped make known the negative health effects of exposure to chemical defoliants and the VA*s attempts to cover-up these conditions as well as their continued refusal to provide treatment and compensation for many Agent Orange Victims. Today our government is still financing and arming undemocratic and repressive regimes around the world. Recently, American troops have been sent into combat in the Middle East and Central America, for many of the same misguided reasons that were used to send us to Southeast Asia. Meanwhile, many veterans are still denied justice -- facing unemployment, discrimination, homelessness, post-traumatic stress disorder and other health problems, while already inadequate services are being cut back or eliminated. Do you "SUPPORT THE TROOPS?? VVAW supports them with action and not a magnetic sticker made in China whose profits support no U.S. Veteran. ![]() BIKERS FOR BEAR BUTTE This letter is to all those well-meaning bikers who participate in the Sturgis Bike Rally in South Dakota, in August. We believe that the majority of you are not aware of the destruction the rally is causing to one of Indian peoples' most sacred sites, Bear Butte. Very few non-Indians know that for many centuries all the Tribes of the Great Plains worshipped and conducted sacred ceremonies at Bear Butte. It is a place for quiet prayers of thanksgiving and for seeking spiritual guidance with ancient ceremonies.(check this site out and let your concerns be heard) |
This left many Veterans feel bitter and guilty for what they had done, and that was to serve the country they once loved. "Ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country"!! This quote by J.F.Kennedy was what most Vietnam Vets were brought up believing in. To this day many Vietnam Veterans are still fighting the horrors of that War, and also battling the scars that the citizens of this Nation inflicted on them upon their return. I as one of these Veterans, will never forget or forgive this country or those citizens for "That" burden which they branded us with!!! The Vietnam War was not fought by the rich but by the ones who couldn*t go to school, and could not buy their way out of Vietnam, or could not run to Canada, or dodge the draft because they were brought up believing that serving your country was the right thing to do. And has this country learned anything from Vietnam, I think not!! Bombs are still being dropped on the innocent, young people are still being sent in harms way for no just cause. And the "Non-Violent" society still does not ask why but waves their flags and justifies what our corrupt politicians send our Armed forces to do. This is my opinion, my belief, and my right of free speech which I will die defending but will never endorse a War for no reason, other than to protect our feedom and liberty. People use your voice, Let your concerns be heard, and use your freedom before it is lost forever!!! In memrory of James D. Conn, died January 16, 1970- Panel 14W-Line 38 on the Wall and James C. "Untitled is a poem by John Musgrave which I related to a lot. I appreciate John*s permission to let me make a page out of this very moving Vietnam War poem. I hope you enjoy it and get the meaning and feeling that was present when this poem was created and see what our trend of mind was as "Combat Soldiers" in the Nam. "He Stepped Off The Trail" is another poem by John Musgrave, that shows the horror of war and the frame of mind the Combat Soldier had to be in to fight and survive and believe -"It Don*t Mean Nothin*! When it meant everything. | |||
