A Floridian's Seminole Indian's
I hope in making the previous page "Changing Winds"
Prehistoric Miami ~ The Miami Circle
in honor of the Seminole Indian's does not offend them
or their Tribe, as I see us All as One
and mean no disrespect
I have grown up in awe of these self sufficient people,
since first seeing them as a child in my small town of
Allapattah, Florida back in the 1950's
How could these people live in the snake, gator,
animal infested Everglades where I would go with my big
brother frogging, fishing, looking for tree snails, or just
to enjoy the beauty while he caught snakes.
Now after many years, I can learn of their history,
culture, customs, and many other things that
as a Floridian I was not aware of all
because of this learning tool,
the world wide web.
I have listed below a few links of long ago Indians
in regards to the newly found "Miami Circle"
that I hope you will enjoy as much as I have.
Oh, and I am no author, just a seeker that
has tried to make it a little easier
to learn about
"Florida's Natives"
But first I want to show you the emblem
on our state flag which also honors
"Florida's Indian Floridians"
Florida's flag represents the land of sunshine, flowers, palm trees,
rivers and lakes. The seal features a brilliant sun, a cabbage palmetto
tree,a steamboat sailing and a Native American Seminole woman scattering
flowers.
