Building Your Page

After you have signed in at Tripod, you will be taken to this page:

"Get Started Here".

On the right, click on "WEBTV AREA"

On the next page, you will see:
"WebTv Area"

On the right, click on "Housekeeper".

You are now in your Tripod Housekeeper. (Some other webpage hosts call this a File Manager). Think of this area as a big file cabinet. This is where all of your pages and "subdirectories" will be kept.

In the center of this page, written in blue, you will see:

"Things you can access from this Homepage Housekeeper".

Right below it is a gray "box", click on it and it will "drop down" a "menu".

Click on :

"Create a Custom Page"

Then click on "go !" in the little box on the right of the one you just used.

You are now taken to the page where you fill in your file name.

Think of the file name as the word you would put on the tab of a file folder, so you can file it in your "file cabinet". It should be a one word name.

Scroll down on the page until you see a "box".

Delete what is written in there, and type in the one word name for your "file".

For this page I chose the name, "custom".

Then after your one word name, put a "." (period), and then the letters html

Note: you can just put .htm but some computers do not recognize the .htm command, and have a hard time reading the page.

My file name for this page would be, custom.html.

After you have written in the file name for your page, followed by, .html, click on,

Use This Filename

You will be taken to the Page Editor
