A hurricane named Katrina
Tore through Louisianna one day
The world watched in horror
At the destruction in it's wake
One injustice after the other
Took place as we prayed
That someone would take notice
Before all met a watery grave
As one day became another
My heart gave way to rage
My soul took on the torment
Of why this all took place
I sat upon my "righteous" throne
I watched and judged the deeds
Of all who was responsible
For the people so in need
I judged the government
I judged the victims
I called it by name
I called it sin
My own sin stained heart
Grumbled and moaned
Opening the doors for satan
To make himself a home
He called the shots
He caused me to turn
From the Christian ways
From all that I learned
Jesus forgive me
Forgive my carelessness
Forgive me for pointing
A blaming finger in this
Only God knows the heart
Only God knows the reasons
Why things happen and how
I have no right to judgment
I prayed that God forgive me
I prayed He take away the burden
That I brought on myself
When I opened the door to satan
I praise God for Jesus
For His atoning blood
Without His forgiveness
I'd drown in katrina's flood
I've been forever humbled
I've grown forever wiser
Judging others brings pain
Trusting Jesus brings life
Thank you Jesus
For allowing me such pain
Thank you Jesus
For raising me up again
To truth
To life
To love

Titus 3:5 Not by works of righteousness
which we have done, but according to
his mercy he saved us, by the washing
of regeneration, and renewing of the
Holy Ghost;
Titus 3:6 Which he shed on us abundantly
through Jesus Christ our Saviour;
