The darkness of life can overtake us
In one clean swoop of it's hand
It can take us from a secure place
And send us to a foreign land


A land filled with lamentation
A land filled with painful grief
A land filled with crying and wailing
Filled with anguish beyond belief


We can feel as though we've gone crazy
We can feel as though deaths at the door
We can feel like there's no more tomorrow
We want only to lay prone on the floor


Life holds no more meaning
Life holds no more promise
Life holds more days of sadness
If this is all there is


But is there a God beside me?
Is there a God who cares
Have I given Him my every minute
Have I held His hand in faith
Have I turned to Him for strength
Have I listed all my problems
Am I open to His Grace






Fear and trembling is an earthly condition
But I'm not of this world
I'm a child of the Living God
And He can see me through


One step and one day at a time
I give it all to Him
He gives me in return
The strength and will to live


I live life at it's fullest
I live life with a smile on my face
I live life according to His will
Uplifted by His Amazing Grace


He soothes my pain He revives me
He fills me with His merciful love
He wraps me in His loving arms
Fills my life with things from above


I see His hand move every day
I feel His Spirit within
I love living one day at a time
With my future secure in Him
