The rose of heaven is Jesus
His fragrance fills my soul
His beauty overwhelms me
With love for His story told
He was born into this world
With peril on all sides
But He made it through ok
With angels as His guides
You see His Father had a plan
A plan for you and me
That His only son would give his life
Just to set us free
He agonized
He asked God to take this cup from Him
But the faith that was inside
Knew He had to save us from sin
He cried tears of blood
For what He had to face
All because us humans
Fell so very far from Grace
I can never thank Him enough
I can never repay the debt
His love for us prevailed
Even while He wept
My beautiful rose of heaven
Your fragrance fills my soul
Your love overwhelms me
I want your story told
I want to shout it from the rooftops
I want mountains to echo your name
I want all the world to know
That to this earth you came
...Just for us

Please keep in mind that I
wrote this poem from only
one aspect of the crucifixion.
There was much much more
involved in what Jesus did and
went through during that darkest
time in history.
It was lovingly pointed out to me
that the worst of the crucifixion
was that Jesus knew that for the
first time ever He would have to
go through a separation from His
beloved Father, God.
Jesus cried tears of blood because
He was so heartbroken over this.
This revelation was so very hard
for me to internalize...it broke my
heart, it made me so very aware
that everything else on this earth
pales to what Jesus sacrificed for
us...for me.
Jesus never in His lifetime swayed
from His love of God...He lived by
God's word and He sums it all up in
Matthew 4:10 "For it is written, Thou
shalt worship the Lord thy God, and
him only shalt thou serve."
Amen.

Jesus said in God's word:
John 6:37 All that the Father
giveth me shall come to me;
and him that cometh to me I
will in no wise cast out.
John 6:38 For I came down
from heaven, not to do mine
own will, but the will of Him
that sent me.
