Gray skies overhead haunt me
Reflecting my own heavy heart
I ponder my day with dread
I don't even want to start
The car is all warmed up
Ready to make the ride
But I procrastinate for a time
Taking time to look inside
Inside my quivering heart
What is there for me to fear
My sweet and gentle Jesus
Is by my side...right here
I give thanks and I praise Him
I know without a doubt
He'll walk along before me
And chase away the clouds
I stop to say a prayer
To gather some of His strength
So I can go forth boldly
So I can ride the length
The rain is pelting all around me
Not today will it cease
But I now have my umbrella
I can go in peace
