Cindy's
"SOUR CREAM COOKIES"
Cindy's Great Aunt Helen's recipe.

SIFT - 3 cups flour, 1/2 tsp. salt,
1/2 tsp. baking soda, and 1/2 tsp.
baking powder

MIX - 3/4 cup shortening (1/2 butter or
rmargarine,1/2 Crisco)*, 1-1/2 cup
sugar, 2 tsp. vanilla, and 1 cup
(thick) sour cream.

COMBINE - all ingredients; drop by
tsp; bake at 350 degrees, approx.
11 minutes. Ice immediately with
butter frosting (see below).

*6 tbsp. each of
butter/margarine & Crisco

ICING - Butter (use remaining stick
of butter/margarine),
Confectioner's sugar,
Milk and Vanilla (about 1/8? tsp.).

OPTIONAL - food coloring, as desired

Will yield about 8 dozen small cookies.
