The following information (article) was taken fron the Franklin Co. (Malone Farmer), Malone N.Y. dated 1935 (could find no day or month) a twice weekly news paper that ran from 1900 to 1936
Peter Russell a Malone resident died Thursday from injuries received when he was hit by a car on the way to his son Sherrys house at 97 Pleasant St.
Mr Russell was born in Ft Covington NY in 1853 and married Jane Boyea many yrs ago.
She died in 1908
We believe Jane was maybe a Mohawk Indian, we have a photograph of her dressed in a Indian buckskin dress
He had lived with his son Sherry for the past 22 yrs
Surviving are sons George and Sherry of Malone and Enos of Rome NY
An adopted daughter Mammie, Mrs Leonard Pollard of Malone..We called her Aunt Mame, thats all we know about her.
Four brothers
Nelson and William and Frank of Worchester Mass
Alex of Carthage and Edward of N.Y.C.
plus 10 grandchildren 11 gt grandchildren and 2 gtgt grandchildren
Mr. Russell will be laid to rest in Notre Dame Cemetery in Malone beside his wife Jane Boyea. 1843 - 1908
I also found a artical dated 11 Dec.(no year) but it had to be before 1928. because Enos Russell his wife Alice Dumas/Blanchard and family moved to Rome N.Y. Oneida Co.in 1928.
