~~~ Time Stood Still ~~~ Oh! I remember so well Three days time stood still. It never happened before, And hope never will again. First, as fact trickled along, Souls thought it was a jest. As "Confusion" slowly reigned, Their peace became alarm-- Sure that "Dooms Day" was near. Not one timepiece--not one-- Tiny or so big and tall In the whole wide world Moved ahead a second-- All time was still--paralyzed !! Students and teachers alike Were tardy for classes-- Brains were perplexed with A matter even principals Could not address or solve. Business places shyly opened, Appointments in disarray. Doors were closed if too busy Different hours night and day. Factories in an awful mess-- Shipments to make--what to do-- Waited for trucks--docks loaded. Schedules were never met. Cooks didn't know when meals Should be made for families, Who didn't even know time They could be home to eat. "Confusion" was everywhere ! Three days I pray never to relive !
