A Marriage Made In "Cyber Space" When I purchased my WebTv in Oct of 2000, l never dreamed that it would lead me to a new & exciting chapter in my life. With this new "Electronic Contraption", I embarked on a special project that I always wanted to do. For the past 40 plus yrs. I built, raced & showed cars for a living & won many Awards for them across the country & I always wanted to do a biography of my life surrounding this part of my life but never really had the tools or know how until I got my webby.  Not being familiar with the workings of the internet, I joined the GreenJackets NewsGroup, which is made up of people who help 'newbies" like myself, solve their "cyber space problems". One person who was always there when I needed help, was DoMiNoh, a vibrant, redhead from Virginia Beach, Va. Neither one of us were looking for a relationship at the time & had no idea that our friendly chats & help sessions would eventually turn into something serious. I've always had a knack about reading a person on who & what they were & it wasn't long after we met on the net that I sensed that this person was "Very Special" & I wanted to know more about her. Over a period of about 7-8 months, we communicated back & forth with a "jillion" phone calls & E mails & finally on Aug 30th 2001, I made the 18 hr. drive east to Virginia to meet this "Special Lady". We had exchanged photos & I knew they can sometimes be deceiving, but looks wasn't that important to me. I did a lot of praying enroute to see my "cyber space sweety", asking God to let her be everything I interpreted her to be thru our E Mails; loving, caring & a lust for living life at it's fullest. My prayers were answered & we spent a fantastic weekend together. When I left there I knew without a doubt that this was the person I wanted to spend the rest of my life with. Enroute back to Ind., I pondered over many questions concerning the success of a cyber space relationship like we had & asked God to steer me down the right path. By the time I arrived back home in Indiana, I knew what I was doing was right & began making plans to relocate to Virginia. On Oct 18th 2001, I put that plan into action & loaded up all my posessions & made the move to Virgina Beach. It took two 20 hr. trips to make the move & by Oct. 31st, we found a nice 2 bedroom apt. & moved in together. Before I changed directions in my life, Thanksgiving & especially Christmas was the least of my favorite holdays. While I did a lot of extensive decorating on the outside of my home, the "inside of my life" was nothing but the "blah's" & I couldn't wait for it to be over with, but Jeannine changed all that. For the 1st time in years, I was really looking forward to the Christmas Season & our memories of these 2 Holidays we spent together will always be "Very Special" to us, especially Christmas because it was on Christmas Eve that I gave her an engagement ring. We had talked about marriage earlier & I told her, when your ready just let me know. Well after I gave her the ring that evening she surprised me with a beautiful purple envelope with a silver ribbon bow & inside it was the application for a "Marriage License". I was estatic & winning the lottery at that moment wouldn't have made me any happier. I've had a lot of "Highs" in my life but none of them ever gave me the happiness I've found with this Very Special Lady. She is the most giving, caring & loving person I have ever known & on Feb. 2nd 2002 , on the shores of the Chesapeake Bay, we were married at the Beach Club in Virginia Beach,Va. In closing, I'd like to add that I'm not a deeply religious person, but I know that without God's help & a lot of prayers, my dreams of finding Jeannine, that Special Soul Mate, would've never become a reality.  |
