*~ALL I ASK~* Of all the stars that dance across the sky, Your star remains the one so bright As if a lantern of hope in the darkness, I can turn to it in the deep of the night. Standing there beneath the canopy of stars That shine above my head, I could stop and go into the warmth But I stand and look at them instead. For out there in the dark of night When I look upon your star, I can feel a sense of wholeness Because it shines down on where you are. There is one thing I request of you A small and so simple task, That you look out into the Heavens and remember me, Of you, this is all I ask. And when you look upon your star Know that somewhere I am looking too And within the walls of my Heart If I need a smile, that's where I will find you. They say the stars are eternal.
