*~Tribute In Light~*



They shine as did the souls now lost

The beams reaching out into the night,

Reaching up and out from the heart of the city

This wonderful tribute..this Tribute in Light...


One can almost sense the love and vibrance

Of the many lives lost on that day,

And even tho we may not have known them ourselves

Their stories have touched us in some special way...


We've seen their faces so many times now,

The young and old, so many gone, My God

In the aftermath of such a tragedy like this,

How do we honor the ground where they once trod?


For this is now such hallowed ground,

Where these mighty buildings once did stand,

We honor them with these beams of light,

That reach out and up from our great land...


The vision of these beams of light

Reaching up from within a city's Heart,

remind us all of what we have lost

But also help us to find a way to start...


To start living our lives once again,

To face a world without too much fright,

Slowly we lift the darkness from our hearts

And hand in hand walk towards the bright...


Within these beams of light we can sense

All the love for lost ones we now send afar...

Perhaps the journey the beams may take

Will reach distant to a bright and shining star...


Perhaps within the warmth of their glow

We will find a way to start new dreams,

Remembering those we've lost, But looking forward

Rising up within the glow of those beams
