Romance |
 Romance can mean something different to each person. I personally think it's all about making an extra effort to express the emotions you feel towards a person in a special and tender way but with real thought and intent on pleasing them. So the key is to know your partner. It can be simple things or going all out, but whatever you may you choose, it should mean something to the person you wish to please. Simple things can mean: Leaving little love notes or promises where your loved one will find them; Going for a hike together in the mountains/trails and just enjoying each other's company in the solitude of mother nature; A walk on the beach hand-in-hand; Her wearing your shirt because it still holds your essence as you go to work; Listening to music you both enjoy together in a room full of lighted candles; Reading poetry to each other. So many ways to show you care (smile) Going all out can mean: A beautiful well planned evening with candlelights and dinner and a concert/show; A boat excursion filled with great music and dancing; a romantic cruise to an exotic island and, of course, this trip can be a family trip where the children are well attended to and the two of you have the time you need to devote to each other; How about a daring helicopter ride over a scenic site (for eg.: Niagara Falls). I have done it and it's great (smile)!!!! Personally, I think going all out is a change from routine and exciting in one aspect; but, somehow simple says it the best if the feelings are really behind it (soft smile)!!!!. The point is to create a memorable gem for your partner, while also making sure it is something for you both to enjoy and get the most out of. You don't need a lot of money either. What is important is that you care and want to show it in a way that will please the other. I will try and list a few links or ideas here to get you started but this is a work in progress and if anyone wants to give me some suggestions, then I do hope to hear from you. :) Always try to find time for each other and really try to tune in. "Roses For Rose" was written by PoppyK1 aka James A. Kisner and is just one of his beautiful poems that I have enjoyed. I remember seeing it for the first time at a Poetry Contest where Poppy had won first place. It will usually surface on many pages around Valentine's Day. My site is about Romance and Love, yes, but I would like us all to feel that it is not limited to one day or for a few (as in Special Occasions). Poetry is not a way for all; but for those who have the gift of writing about emotions that some cannot find a way to express, it can be very fulfilling. It is also a way to express our own deep heartfelt feelings in such beautiful form. I see the pen as the brush, the words the strokes and the page a canvas. When I first came to the internet, some years ago, I came upon this site that I fell so in love with. It really spoke to me. I knew that sense of peace in the woods and the beauty of this soulful spirit showed me a journey I wanted to travel. The author was Cougar Wisdom and her site was Vision and Wisdom. She's very gifted. I was so moved by her site that I actually sat down and wrote a poem that was greatly inspired by her. My friend, Dana A. G., was also recognized because of his love of lyrics and poetry and his sharing it with me. He's a frustrated songwriter (Shhhhh!...you didn't hear it from me). The poem was for them both. I sent it to Maureen and she was very pleased. I had never done anything like this before but I'm glad I did. My poem is listed above & titled, "Shall We Take A Trip". Another "special" favorite writer of mine's from long ago. One day I was given a book of such depth and insight and beauty. That book was called "The Prophet". I have since been an avid admirer of this man. Read of his life, his words and discover the depths of passion and love. Khalil Gibran |
