A Fathers Love
A father's love is kindness in a word.
Bedtime prayers and butterfly kisses,
stories and trips to the park,
a kiss for every bruise and scrape,
playing house with you and your friends,
teaching you to read and even how to skate.
All this and more is a father's love.
Giving you the courage to be yourself-
and to try new things,
the knowledge to make wise decisions-
and being there to help when you didn't,
loving you in the times when it is tough,
and when you think he's had enough-
he gives even more patience and love.
All this and more is a father's love.
Guiding you on your path in life,
ready to listen no matter what the hour,
he would give all he has if you asked it,
All this and much more is a fathers love.
Kind and giving it is a precious gift.
