Bush’s Legacy ... Discrimination
Will George W. Bush be known as the “war” president or the man who brought discrimination back into the American dream? If you picked the latter, you’re spot on.
Enter the wannabe Amendment to Ban Gay Marriage pursued by the lame duck to fire up his base. Marriage is to be narrowly defined by bigots to stop their perception of the gay agenda. Do they know what they are talking about? No. Fear and self-righteousness fuel their wish to control a segment of the population, along with that old stand-by “I’m better than you are”.
If you have ever noticed, those who profess to “hate” another group of people have issues with who they are themselves. The pecking order allows the rung above to despise the rungs below, always knowing they are being despised by the rung above them. Hating a lower rung gives them a presence in their world of “I’m better than you are”. It becomes a vicious circle, always going lower and lower until the top rung is indistinguishable from the gutter.
This is where we find the Bush administration with it’s latest pronouncement of “I’m better than you are” using the gay marriage debate as their slippery slope. This so called uniter is doing his best to divide this country once again with his my way or no way mentality. His superior attitude that marriage must be only between a man and a woman ignores the inalienable rights of those who think differently and wish to make a commitment to a spouse of the same gender. The superior attitude negates the idea of a happy home with children who will grow up knowing they are a part of a family of choice, either by birth or by adoption in a same sex marriage.
Instead the divider focuses on the sexual part of a marriage only. His views are to protect the public from these who deviate from his narrow perspective of what is right and legal. We will hear of the horrible what if’s. What if they marry, will we next allow marriage with underage kids? Will we allow marriage to beasts? Will that loving couple next door make a mockery of my marriage to the opposite sex? Will their kids grow up to be gay? Will they make my kids gay too? This is what bigotry is all about. We saw it in the interracial marriages and the idea it would make the world brown instead of black and white. And that anyone was then fair game to be taken in to the lower rungs of the not politically correct. Your daughter, your son……..what would the neighbors think!
The neighbors don’t give a damn as long as you appear to be like them, decent family folks, and keep your lawn mowed.
Get your mind out of the gutter GeeDubya, and worry about how many people you have killed with your war of lies. Many of them won’t live to marry anyone.
