Whole Wheat Hamburger Buns

    Ingredients

      3/4 C warm water
      2 T sugar
      2 packages yeast
      1/2 C RC margarine
      1/2 C sugar
      2 eggs
      2 C very warm water
      1 tsp salt
      4 C flour
      4 C whole wheat flour


    nonstick spray Mix water, sugar & yeast; set aside. Cream, butter & sugar. Add eggs, water, salt & 3 1/2 cups flour. Beat at low speed till mixed, then at high speed 3 minutes. Add yeast and 2 more C flour. Mix 75 to 100 strokes. Add 1 more cup flour & stir. Add more flour if needed for workable dough.

    Knead for 5 minutes, adding flour to working surface as needed to prevent sticking. Spray large bowl with nonstick spray. Make ball, roll dough in bowl to coat with spray, spray dough more if needed to seal dough in light coat.

    Cover with plastic wrap & cover bowl with towel. Set in very spot. Let rise 1 hour.

    Spray cookie sheets with nonstick spray. Cut dough with scissors into 48 balls. Stretch dough over fingers & tucked under the roll, it makes smooth tops. Let rise 45 minutes.

    Bake at 400 for 18 minutes. **Special Notes I assume you could make a hot dog shaped bun with this recipe also.
