Ingredients
1 lb fresh asparagus
Olive oil cooking spray or
2-3 tsp extra virgin olive oil
1/8 tsp salt
1/8 tsp dried thyme
Rinse asparagus with cool water, shake off excess water. Snap off tough stem ends.
Coat large baking sheet with nonstick cooking spray, spread asparagus spears in an even layer.
Spray spears lightly with cooking spray or drizzle with the olive oil. Sprinkle with salt, pepper, herbs and shake pan to distribute seasonings.
broil for about 8 minutes, shaking pan every 3 minutes, or until the spears are tender and lightly browned.
Serve hot, topping each serving with a sprinkling of Parmesan cheese or a squeeze of lemon juice if desired.
