Mama's Picante Sauce (Salsa)

    Makes 8-10 pints


    Ingredients

      4 quarts peeled and chopped tomatoes,
      2 cups chopped onions,
      1 cup chopped jalapenos,
      1/2c. vinegar,
      1/4 c. sugar,
      2tbsp. salt,
      1/4 c. chopped garlic,
      1/4 c. cornstarch, water.


    Combine vegetables and seasonings it’s better if you chop your veggies in a food processor

    In a large saucepan. dissolve cornstarch in just enough water to make a smooth paste. add to vegetable mixture and stir throughly. simmer 45 minutes.

    Refrigerate if you can’t eat that much salsa (or) can ---place in individual jars and process 10 minutes in boiling water bath. recipe can be halved. enjoy!
