HOBO NICKEL - "THE IMMIGRANT"

Imagine yourself being in Ellis Island, New York at the time of the "heyday" of the Hobo Nickel and you might well have seen this man there. He was full of hope and expectations at what might lie ahead of him in "America".
This carving is my tribute to those early Immigrants and what America has become today, because of them.
He is carved on a VG/F 1936 Buffalo nickel with my usual G hanging J mark on the reverse. This is a higher grade, carvng with the features well defined, and at multi-levels. Every feature has been altered, except the eye.

I want to let you all know that my car project is keeping me real busy right now, so I won't be carving as much for awhile.

Happy Collecting and Thanks For Looking,
