In the early 1970's, I was a police officer for a few years. That fact motivated me to do a carving of one of them. I think this guy turned out to look more like, what I see as, the big city traffic cop, so that is what I have labeled him.
He is carved on a VG 1937 buffalo nickel that is signed on the reverse with my usual G hanging J mark. The background toning is somewhat irregular looking, when enlarged to this size, but it isn't that noitceable when viewed in person. The field is actually quite smooth. This is a nice, higher grade carving, that I'm sure you would enjoy having in your collection.
