An Original Poem
...by Mouzer
This is a very cool place to be...
Lots of friends and families...
So sit right back and take a seat...
Cause young-at-heart can't be beat!!!
So now you're here, you might as well join...
Without setting your destiny in the flip of a
coin...
Let us take you by the hand...
You're on your way home to WebTV Land!!!!
Net Friends
...by Lady-Sorceress
Like invisible threads
We link hands around the world
And come together in friendship.
Our conversations vary from
Worldly to personal
Joyful to sorrowed
Definite to improbable.
And yet the bonds grow stronger
And we rely on each other
For kind words, sympathy, and laughter.
My friends, it may seem strange
To someone not familiar with our ways
That I could feel so close
To people whose faces i've never seen
Whose hands I've never grasped in friendship.
But each of you understands
And that is what matters
To me.

Doug-Who????
...by Doug Frederick
I've had my share of living
Great memories from the start
The Golden Years they call them
I'm old-but I'm young at heart
So many friends I'v gathered
Each one of them a part
Of many years together
I'm old-but I'm young at heart
Always tried to do it right
Keep the horse before the cart
Learning life's experiences
I'm old-but I'm young at heart
Still got a lot I wanna do
Gonna live until I die
I'll never-never give it up
Too young at heart -I sigh
I'll keep on writing poems
Sincere and full of love
Words that come like magic
From the good lord-up above.
Sharing is Caring
...by Doug Fredrick
To share with someone special
Just a moment - just a smile
Can bring you so much happiness
Can make things so worthwhile
Hand in hand - a litte stroll
Wild flowers line the way
Trees all waving their branches
"welcome" to you - they say
Sharing the stars and moonbeams
The sound of the crickets song
An occasional streaking comet
With a tail so brilliant and long
Together you watch the sunrise
You watch its glow as it sets
Together you're sharing and caring
The best - the best that it gets
We need this caring and sharing
A "someone" to share what we do
A "Friend" who cares what happens
A "Friend" - My Dear - like you.
Friend
...by Julie
When you stand at the edge of time
When you can no longer see neither
reason nor ryme
When your dreams are shattered and lie
in pieces at your feet
When you can no longer smile and
laugh but must
sob and weep
I will be there to hold your hand
I will gently dry your tears and understand
I will pick up the pieces of your shattered
dreams
I will pull you back from the edge of life's
extremes
I will do all I can to help you mend
I will always be there for you; my
Friend.
What a Stupid I Am
...by Doug Fredrick
Sadness - I cry
An experience - I sigh
My questions is Why?
What a stupid I am
Sun - Oh - so bright
Stars and Moonlight
Why such a sight?
What a stupid I am
Birds flying high
A brook rippling by
Why - me - oh - my?
What a stupid I am
My spirits now soar
Young-at-heart,I adore
and I know what for
So - I'm stupid no more.
Journey
...by Julie
Shadows of the past
Hints of the future
I know whats left behind
I long for what lies ahead
Gentle winds blow
Teasing my hair
Cooling my skin
Floating on the breeze
Are the dreams reborn
Gentle whispers of those I loved
Burned memories of those walked a different path
Epiphanies of true meanings
Realizations of life's mysteries
The purpose of the journey
Love
Poet's Purpose
...by Julie
A poem is the desires of the heart
put to words in precious thoughts
The yearnings twist and turn stirring
the soul with a slow, deep burn
To close the eyes and see the words
To understand what's never heard
To feel the dreams and longings so clearly
To always remember and hold them dearly
This is the poet's purpose to reach deep
inside and skim the surface
A poem is a fingerprint a gentle touch
The soft whisper of a breeze that means so
much.
The Garden
...by Doug Fredrick
Floral colors soothe the eye
Like rainbow hues dropped from the sky
Fragrant scents are all around
As the stream emits a rippling sound
Heartfelt beauty every where
For all to cherish - all to share
A masterpiece you must agree
God's perfect gift - for you and me
SWANS
...by Bruce Knipp
On a misty morning at dawns first light
A pair of swans come into sight.
Through the lillypads and cattails, just off shore
The move close to our vantage point,
in the cool
morning air
Beautiful and elegant,a very regal pair.
Passing by they seem to give us a knowing stare.
Could they know the love we share?
They seem to say just be like us.
We're always together through lifes good and bad
parts.
So let you and I be like the swans, on the misty
pond.
Side by side, and always together, and never a
part.
My Kind of Place
...by Doug Fredrick
Just this side of heaven
I found the place for me
Friendly people-open hearts
As gracious as can be
Glad when you are happy
Sad when you are down
Magic is their specialty
Make a smile from a frown
Enter in thier friendship
I'll bet you never part
This god created family
That's known as "Young at Heart"
"My Life in 3 Words"
by Sassy
I...
Love my family.
Give love freely.
Learn every day.
Listen to others.
I...
Don't waste time.
Grow old reluctantly.
Make life worthwhile.
Share the wealth.
I...
Believe in God.
Pray for friends.
Make them laugh.
Lift their Spirits.
I...
Am often happy.
Do my part.
Will always be...

Young At Heart
...by Suann Wine
There may be snow on the roof
I may need a jump start..
Sometimes my memory fails
But I'm still Young at Heart!
I may need some Geritol
I can be as sour as a tart..
Life will not slow me down
Cause I am still Young atHeart!
There is a place I can go..
Where others share their views in part
Tis a group I've come to love
Yes! we are all here at Young At Heart
