![]() ![]() As I said before, there are signs everywhere on the MRT. Not many of them are of the dry and formal kind. I don't know how to describe them, funny, cartoonish? Judge for yourself when looking at this one. ![]() ![]() ![]() And so Mummy went and bought the girl a ticket. One can buy single trip tickets from ticket automats in the stations or from bus drivers. But the easiest way to get around hasselfree and without exact change is the EZlink card. The price of S$15,- includes a S$5.- non refundable service charge, a S$3.- deposit and S$7.- worth of rides. When entering the platform area tap it on the reader at the turnstile and again upon leaving and the value of the trip is deducted. Do the same with the bus, board at the front, tap, exit at the rear and tap. Running low, top it off. Nothing to it. At the end of my vacation I returned the card, got my deposit back plus the value of the unused rides. Single ride tickes carry a S$1.- refundable deposit, collectable at the end of the ride. A great way to prevent littering, wouldn't you say? Of course, the stiff fines imposed upon this bad habit, work wonders too.
This brings us to the end of the MRT story, you are now free to roam
the city. Thank you. ![]() ![]() Back to the Singapore Menu |
