The Singapore Zoo

The trip to the Singapore Zoological Gardens was quite a scenic one, by MRT and bus. Outside downtown Singapore the MRT travels above ground, thus offering nice views of the surroundings.
Once at the Zoo the entertainment started already, before entering the park. Tiny squirrels darted through the trees and bushes and I mean tiny. Would you believe 8 inches from nose to a short stubby tail? It was almost impossible to catch one sitting still long enough to take a picture.

You could call them "hummingsquirrels" only they did not hoover in the air like those little birds.
Also there were several bronze animal sculptures outside. I liked the elephants, so as a true tourist I had to take a picture with them.

My Singapore Airline Boardingpass gave me a reduction on the entry as well as a free pass on the tram that traversed the Zoo, thus saving me time and energy. Visting the Zoo by foot would have reduced me to a soaking rag in no time.
Now, take a swig of water to prevent dehydration and follow me to the next page.......
