As I have mentioned several times, I love the European trains, especially the high speed ones. I rode the Eurostar, the TGV and the Swedish X2000. You can understand how happy I was to find out, that, thanks to the cheap air fare to Düsseldorf, I could enjoy a ride in the InterCityExpres (ICE) train of the Deutsche Bundesbahn (German State Railways) from that town to the Netherlands. Serendipity, just like finding that nice hotel in Düsseldorf.
On its own special track, this train can reach a speed of over 200 MPH with no shake, rattle and roll. There is no noise inside and your drink does not spill over. If only they could make airplanes do that.
