Joaquin Rodrigo described the Concierto itself as capturing "the fragrance of magnolias, the singing of birds and the gushing of fountains" in the gardens of Aranjuez. Its success established his reputation as one of the foremost post-war Spanish composers. The guitar is never overwhelmed by the orchestra and remains the solo instrument throughout. This haunting melody will warm the cockle's of your heart
