My New Kitten

Hello, my name is Julio. That's Spanish for July. I am a little gray tabby. My first human contact was not very nice. They didn't want me and tossed me out. But I didn't like that. I found myself underneath some grocery carts near a Winn Dixie Grocery Store. It was a hot day in July. I just stood there and yelled my head off.

A new human heard my cries for help from the middle of the parking lot. She was planning to have lunch with some friends. Instead she ran into the grocery store got a small box and some food. Then she picked me up and took me to a new home. There I found another cat named Kimba. She had never been a mother but I did't know that. I wasn't quite weaned so I tried to replace the loss of my own mother. I really was a tiny kitten.

Now it is the end of August and I have really grown. I am lively, love to climb shower curtains and play with Kimba. She is lots of fun and I give her good exercise. (Don't tell anyone, but she does need it.) Then when I get tired I sleep either cuddled up to Kimba or my new human.

It is now 2005 so you see am older. Kimba died about a year ago. I do have a new companion. Her name is Kendall. We have moved to a new place. It is an apartment in the Kendall area of Miami. Kendall was abandoned and left behind in one of the apartments. She yowled very very loudly. The neighbors decided that since Kimba had died I needed a new companion. So she moved in!!! We are friends most of the time. Our apartment has a very large porch which I really love. There is a tree just full of birds and squirrels. The other day I watched a mama bird feed here babies. There are screens between us and the birds so they are safe. Unfortunately the screens aren't because we try to climb them.
