In Loving Memory of Sammy Abraham

There are many bridges we must cross.
Mountains high and valleys low.
We crossed them all together friend.
Now it's time for me to go.

If had known the longest bridge,
Would loom up quite so fast...
I would have embraced your handshake,
And held your hand with stronger clasp.

We walked the same old dusty roads.
We grew close and closer every day.
Joy and tears we shared my friend.
Now I must go, and you must stay.

I'm glad that when I had to go;
It was in my daughters arms.
Now I put her hand in yours.
Please keep her from all earthly harms.

You promised me so long ago,
That you would always be right there.
Little did we know how soon...
That you would have her life to share.

We've reached the bridge that I must cross.
You, my friend, must stay behind.
I am not leaving you dear friend;
Just look within your heart you'll find...

Petals of our friendship shared,
Closely pressed within your heart.
Each one a precious memory.
That way, my friend, we'll never part.

I've almost crossed the bridge right now.
I'm sorry that we have to part.
Remember all the petals friend.
Memories pressed within your heart.

In memory of Sammy Abraham, for his best friend Bobby June 2003

Sammy's daughter was Bobby's God Child.His heart was sorley tested when Sammy died so young. I wanted him to know what Sammy would have said if he could have spoken to him. Bobby is my brother.
