SALVATION

Let me explain the plan of SALVATION. I will tell you what the bible says and let the Lord show you the truth in your own heart. Salvation is a very personal thing between you and God. THE DECISION IS YOURS ALONE.

Jesus answered, "Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Do not marvel that I said to you, "You must be born again". John 3:1-7

Jesus said"You must be BORN AGAIN". If you intend to get to heaven being a good man or woman, doing good works, you are going to miss heaven. Jesus said that if you intend to live in heaven when you die you must be born again. There is no exception. Good works may make you feel good, but if they are not based upon a new relationship with Jesus Christ, they are but a noble extension of human pride. He also is not talking about baptism. Baptism alone is not enough.

So why did Jesus say,"You must be born again"? Because mankind is sinful at heart. By nature, those who have not been born again are dead in their spirits to God and blind in their minds to the things of God. The only thing that changes that condition is a new life which the Holy Spirit gives to those who are willing to receive Him.

The new birth is a spiritual experience. Man and woman are forgiven of their sins, cleansed by Christ's blood and given new life in Christ. The new birth experience is an instantaneous experience when you...

**Recognize you are a sinner and you need Christ.
**Acknowledge that Jesus Christ died on the cross for your sin and paid your sin debt in full.
** Confess and repent of your sin.
**Realize your dependence on Him for the forgiveness of your sin
**Receive Jesus Christ by faith as your personal Savior.

This is called the the new birth experience. You must be spiritually born again, because it is the only way you can be made acceptable in the eyes of God. Jesus said: "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." John 14:6

"Your righteousness from God comes through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God and are justified freely by His grace through the redemption that came by Jesus Christ." Romans 3:22

"If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. If we claim we have not sinned, we make Him out to be a liar and His word has no place in our lives." I John 1:9-10.

"For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God, not by works, so that no one can boast." Ephesians 2:8-9

To believe in Jesus Christ is not mere intellectual assent to His identity or work; belief is acknowledging in our heart that He is God's Son, confessing and repenting of our sins and choosing to follow Him as our Savior and our Lord.

"The Father loves the Son and has placed everything in His hands. Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see life, for God's wrath remains on him." John 3:35-36

"If you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe with your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with the heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved." Romans 10:9-10.

IN SUMMARY:
Man cannot enter heaven by good works because he is spiritually dead, and good deeds do not impart eternal life.

Man is separated from God by sin---violation of God's law and standard. He falls short of perfection which is what God's law demands.

Sin's penalty is death---eternal separation from God's presence. And no amount of noble works can remove that penalty.

Jesus came to earth to reconcile sinful man to God and to die for man's sins. His death on the cross satisfied God's justice, paid sin's penalty and provided a door into heaven. You enter that door by faith in Jesus Christ, recognizing your sinfulness and receiving Christ's forgivness. When you receive Jesus Christ, you receive the gift of eternal life.

"Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved." Acts 4:12

Receiving Christ means that you simply believe that He is God's Son who died in your place on the cross for your sin and rose again from the dead to extend the offer of salvation.

"And the witness is this, that God has given us eternal life and this life is in His Son. He who has the Son has the life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life." I John 5:11-12

"For God so loved the world that He gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through Him." John 3:16-17
