Alex, one of our videographers.
Isn't he cute?
Notice the blimp above the ship's
mast.
This was President
Eisenhower's summer compound.
Right next door is the Kennedy
compound.
Look at that face.

Does this make you feel better

Martha's Vineyard
There were hundreds of these
blotter papers strewn in the bay because of a diesel spill.
Our boat, The Alabama
Shenandoah, the ship we were
supposed to race but couldn't because of low winds. It doesn't have an
engine so the skiff pushed it away from the harbor so they could raise
the sails.
Here we are on the Alabama and
we had to help hoist the sails. It was hard work but fun.
Our videographers and
producer, Edson, Alex and Heather
The boat takes 7th grade students
out every week for a week and they live onboard, cook all their meals,
clean the vessel, etc. These are their sleeping quarters. What a
great experience for the kids.
The owner's doggies.
Shenandoah under sail.
Poor people have to use
their float plane to get around.
Trawler, possibly a scallop
boat.
Beverly steered the boat for a
while - no lives were lost at sea.
RATS!!! Had a bad wire on my
microphone and had to have Edson put a new one on me. Why does life
have to be so hard?
I hope no one had a problem with
being taped because this sign was on the door to the dining room. They
might have gotten pretty hungrey.
New Bedford's port is
protected by this hurricane barrier. If a storm comes up they close
the opening to protect the fishing boats.

The Grand Luxe. This is not
a yacht but a floating art gallery.
An old picture of a New Bedford

Same street as it is today.
What a loving couple - I am
hanging him by his lanyard and he is making signs behind my head.
The skeleton of a Sperm whale has
been hanging in the gallery of the Whaling Museum for over 11 years and
is still dripping oil. New Bedford is know as the city that lit the
world because of the sperm whale oil it produced.
The oil from the
skull.
Don't know what she's doing -
might be sewing but, since I don't know what sewing is, I'm not
sure.
Bye . . . we really missed these
guys when they were gone. We didn't know how to act without a camera
in our faces.
Block Island
Southeast
Lighthouse, Block Island
Behind the lady in the dark
top and white pants is a large rock. That's where the lighthouse used
to be before they moved it to protect it from flooding. It's made of
brick and has concrete walls. They could move it only a few feet a day
because it was so heavy. The lenses were taken out of the light to
protect them.
Thanks . . . you were
delicious.
See the boat in the fog?
