Graves of 121 Titanic victims
in Halifax
Six seater plane we took from
Halifax to Magdalen Islands. You can tell how small it is by the pilot
behind the propeller.
Neat!!! I got to sit in the
front seat for our helicopter trip to the ice.
Here I is in the survival
suit. The stick is used to make sure the ice is solid.
Mother and baby hood seals.
We were lucky to see them because they're fairly rare.
Bull hood seals
Notice the blood on the
ice. The babies were borne a few days ago and that's the resulting
blood.
Us on the helicopter.
Everyone has headsets and microphones so we can talk to each other and
hear the pilot
Baby harp seals. These
babies are weened and will soon lose their white fur (at about three
weeks old). Their mother's milk is so rich, they gain almost five
pounds a day.
Me with a friend.

A scenic spot we went and
let the dogs rest.
View from our hotel.
Same view, next day.
Needless to say, no helicopters would be flying this day.
ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ
Our first time on
snowshoes.
My perfect little feeties in
snowshoes.
Scenery in the woods where
we showshoed.
These cottages are typical
of the colorful houses throughout the islands.
Taken from inside a small
cave.
The island's main industry
is fishing, mainly for lobster. Notice the boats are on land and, when
fishing season starts, they are put on a flatbed truck and brought to
the water.
Ice fishing huts and an ice
fisherman.
This status depicts bringing
in the boats before automation.
