"Twilight on the Kennisto," 2000

Nancy made this wall hanging for Valerie's birthday.
It was inspired by her photo of this river in Hubbardston, MA,
taken near Tom and Marcia Howlett's home. The sky and water
are her hand-dyed fabrics. She started this quilt in a class on
raw-edge applique and fell in love with the technique.
This body of water is also spelled Conesto or Canesto and is
sometimes called a brook. It was one of Nancy's dad's
favorite trout fishing spots.
