This was inspired by a photo taken at Rachel Carson Preserve in ME, where Orrel and Charlie Frost took us in about 1995. I began the applique center in a class with Katie Pasquini Masopust, at a Ft. Washington quilt show, where we celebrated our 45th wedding anniversary in 1995. I used cotton prints, lame', and some of my hand-painted cotton. I finished it in 2001 and gave it to my friend Beth, who said it was probably the only way she would ever have a Fractured Landscape quilt. Some patterns I made for this, especially the old tree, turned up in later projects.
