Parrot Quilt, 2001

"Parrot Quilt" was a wedding gift for Sarah and Gary Bergeron.
It began as a round robin at my quilt guild. I designed and made the parrot applique
from pictures in a child's book on caring for a pet parrot.
Bonnie made the pink and black triangles. Linda designed and made the 3-D leaves,
which are attached with only a couple of stitches.
The quilt stayed unfinished after two more rounds, until 2001,
when I found the large-scale sunflower print on the left.
It has lizards on the back, because the newly-weds were raising lizards and snakes.
