Thank You, Lord
by L. B. Strawn

Thank you for your mercy, Lord,
And thank you for your love.
Thank you for your holy word
Which came from heaven, above.

Thank you for the Savior
Who came to earth and died
That we might truly savor
Your grace, to us, implied.

Thank you for each blessing, good,
For health and strength and life.
Thank you for our daily food
And, even Godly strife.

Thank you for each family
And thank you for each home.
Thank you for eternity
Which, someday soon, will come.

Give us strength, Oh Lord, to cope
With problems which we face,
That we may keep that promised hope
To live with you through grace.

Grant to us that you'll forgive
As we repent from every sin,
That, in eternity we'll live,
In Jesus' blessed name, amen.

Drinking from my saucer

I've never made a fortune, and it's probably too late now.
But I don't worry about that much, I'm happy anyhow.

And as I go along life's way,
I'm reaping better than I sowed.
I'm drinking from my saucer,
'Cause my cup has overflowed.

Haven't got a lot of riches,
and sometimes the going's tough.
But I've got loved ones all around me,
and that makes me rich enough.

I thank God for His blessings,
and the mercies He's bestowed.
I'm drinking from my saucer,
'Cause my cup has overflowed.

I remember times when things went wrong,
My faith wore somewhat thin.
But all at once the dark clouds broke,
and the sun peeped through again.

So Lord, help me not to gripe,
about the tough rows I have hoed.
I'm drinking from my saucer,
'Cause my cup has overflowed.

If You give me strength and courage,
When the way grows steep and rough.
I'll not ask for other blessings,
I'm already blessed enough.

And may I never be too busy,
to help others bear their loads.
Then I'll keep drinking from my saucer,
'Cause my cup has overflowed.

When I think of how many people
in this world have it worse than I do.
I realize just how fortunate most of us really are.

UNFOLDING THE ROSE

It is only a tiny rosebud,
A flower of God's design;
But I cannot unfold the petals
With these clumsy hands of mine.
The secret of unfolding flowers
Is not known to such as I.
GOD opens this flower so sweetly,
Then in my hands they die.
If I cannot unfold a rosebud,
This flower of God's design,
Then how can I have the wisdom
To unfold this life of mine?
So I'll trust in Him for His guidance
Each step of the pilgrim way.
The pathway that lies before me
Only my Heavenly Father knows.
I'll trust Him to unfold the moments,
Just as he unfolds the rose.

SOMEDAY WE'LL SEE HIM FACE TO FACE

I see the snowflakes softly fall
To dress the landscape all in white
And know that God has made them all
To show Himself to human sight.

Who else could form such grand array
To clothe the earth in winter's span
Or gender such a perfect way
For God to show Himself to man.

Each wondrous flake His nature shows
So exquisitely marvelous
And oh what glory they disclose
As God reveals Himself to us.

As we behold the snow today
We see God through this earthly grace
But if we'll faithfully obey
Someday we'll see him face to face.
-- Harry Presley

The last verse of My Country 'tis of Thee:

"Our father's God to thee,
Author of liberty,
To Thee we sing.
Long may our land be bright,
With freedom's Holy light.
Protect us by Thy might,
Great God our King."

How about this verse from "America The Beautiful"?

"America, America, God shed His grace on thee,
And crown thy good with brotherhood,
From sea to shining sea"

The liberals and humanists of today try to cover up the fact that this country was built on faith in God, trust in His providence and Christian ethics.

"WHOSE WILL THOSE THINGS BE?"
by Henry Priest

A wealthy farmer made a good crop
Much more than his barns would hold.
This great dilemma he soon had solved,
The decision he made was bold.

He'd tear down his barns, he said with glee,
And build bigger barns than he had.
"And there I'll bestow all of my goods,
And my heart will be happy and glad."

"You fool", said the lord when He overheard,
The words which he said without fear.
"This night your soul will be taken from you,
Along with the things you hold dear."

A silence prevailed; his rejoicing was stopped.
He'd worked and toiled hard in his fields.
He had worried and planned, and given his time
To secure the best crop they would yield.

But now he would have to leave this land,
And go to a place without rest.
His soul would depart; his body decay;
He had failed to meet the great test.

The Lord then asked as he pondered alone,
Then whose will those things be?"
"The things you provided for others to have,
And the riches that you'll never see?"

The moral of this story is simple and clear:
Give thanks for material things.
Give glory and honor to God up above
For all that your labors can bring.

And never think time is in your own hands,
But always have service to God in your plans.
He who created, provided and blessed,
Has prepared in heaven a place for our rest.

"I wish for you..."

Comfort on difficult days,

Smiles when sadness intrudes,

Rainbows to follow the clouds,

Laughter to kiss your lips,

Sunsets to warm your heart,

Gentle hugs when spirits sag,

Friendships to brighten your being,

Beauty for your eyes to see,

Confidence for when you doubt,

Faith so that you can believe,

Courage to know yourself,

Patience to accept the truth,

And love to complete your life.

God Bless you!

I asked the Lord to bless you

As I prayed for you today

To guide you and protect you

As you go along your way....

His love is always with you

His promises are true

No matter what the tribulation

You know He will see us through

So , when the road you're traveling on

Seems difficult at best

Give your problems to the Lord

And He will do the rest.
