Wave of Love

Grains of sand we have touched,
embedded deep in a mem'ry shared.
Seashells upon our shores of time
reveal the story of how we cared.

Frolicking waves roll unaware,
like playful dolphins in the sea.
No shadows cast unto moonlit air,
affectionate waves for you and me.

Heartstrings tugged by tides to open;
to unveil secrets too long-kept.
Passing swells of seafoam waves
dissolve all the pains we have wept.

The seagulls' sadly plaintive calls,
sing the song of our love's heart,
screaming at last we'll be together,
crying to nevermore be torn apart!

Mighty splash of the ocean's roars,
power to wash away all of our tears;
two hands together holding tight,
intimacy seals the fate of our years.

Sea spray mist that kissed us first,
the dunes where two hearts we gave,
when we secretly built our eternity,
tenderly as moving as any sea's wave.

Like delicate shapes of a starfish
'neath soft, basking rays of the sun,
a life formed by intricate patterns;
Love, nevermore to be undone...
