Sticky Note
When I slide into my red strappy
patents, I step closer to your side.
The suppleness of my bag reminds me
of the feel of the bedspread when we
tucked our passion in for the day.
The satin-sopped lip quencher
lays on my lips like the velvet words
from your mouth. The knit-closeness
of my skirt wraps me like your arms
around my dreams...
Then there is the warm coffee
spilling down my throat like
the essence of where poetry
dares not describe. The crunchy
crispness of fresh toast reminds me
of the way you crinkled leaves of autumn
onto our park blanket playground.
The sky is your unsettled eyes, the moon
is your silvery hair, the earth is my piece of
your open path, and the wind carries your
heartbeat to mine.
Everything around me is a post-it
of you! Stick to me, Baby!
