Sky Keeper
There once was a leader
Wisest in all of the land
Gave up his life so that
His people could stand
When he met his Maker,
Had to answer to this:
How is it you come here
With only their wish?
He bowed down
Before God and was glad
He willingly gave up the
Kingdom he'd had
I've come here before you
To ask, if I may
To be the Sky Keeper,
So please let me stay!
I'll gladly do work
If the stars I can shine
And all of the Heavens
Will surely be mine.
I'd dust all the clouds
With a wish of goodwill
And water the fields
'Til they get their fill
I'll sleep in the daytime
When the sun is on tour
And wipe the night skies
With twinkles galore
Please let me honor you
With keeping the Light
And giving my armies
Peace in the night
I once was a leader
In proud, warring lands
Now, from above, I can
Work through Your hands
Give me the broom,
Sweep, I might, a dark cloud
Sing from the Heavens
In voice right outloud
Sky Keeper, a job that
Is left for one true
The people you left
Will see shades of blue
So go with my blessing
The smiling God spoke
Peace and forgiveness
The rain will invoke
So Sky Keeper watches
And tends, still today
To see that the people
Abide in His way
Dark skies have threatened
Made people aware
He gave up his kingdom
To always be there...
