Strawberry Smiles

Summer left us
under a rosy sun
untouched by hurricane destruction,
cuddled into a freely-versed position,
open to the balcony of family bonds.

The tides seem to crash with
more exuberance, but the voices
carry a contented warmth with them.
The full moon, silver as a dime
and smooth as a memory-worn rock,
brightened our night sky as we giggled
together over a silly-scaped past.

The sleepy morning ocean woke
us to slippery seagull feet and
dancing dolphin fins.
The waves emptied the sand buckets,
while filling our hearts
with one more summer day.

Thoughts are dimpled by brilliance,
air is sparkled with gingerale effervescence.
Sunrise founds us whole and breathing through
fresh strawberry smiles.

The life we chose in front of us
as vast as the sea and the track of music
we left behind washed away in white foam.
Ours is the glinted summer morn
