Prologue to the book:

Without knowing my fate

I've only experienced life as a calling.

Trying to own

my part of love...

The cover of Wake the Moon was designed by myself by a manipulation of photography. It was chosen over the alternate graphic, which was done totally by my digital art.Our first book of poetry is set up into 9 basic themes including

  • Joy
  • Ocean
  • Tears
  • Spirit
  • Soul
  • Heart
  • Earth
  • Sky
  • Life

Following are a few excerpts from the book:
  • Watching Waves Play

Found in the Tears section of the book a poignant piece that I haven't included in its entirety so that the rest will be read when the book is purchased. (We were advised by publishers not to give too much away for free...)

    Injurous Nature
    I've surrenderd to you
    the whole of my love,
    sewn
    with fautless stitches,
    pure and priceless
Resulting of time and effort spent,
    silver threads,
    bind the slashes,
    You have remarked, in disappointment,
    in disregard to tender sentiment,
    that gold far outshines silver.

    Yet,
    I've returned to you,
    my face upturned,
    lashes damp.
    Hopeful.

    nothing

    Reviews for Injurious Nature:

  • Oh, poetess, she is gorgeous, as is her writing. You and she have much in common. I adore her depth of mind, and her talent of pen. A very stunning and powerful piece of writing
  • Your daughter is exquisite!
  • I find this to be very poignant and heart wrenching, really. The emotion is raw and so evident in every line. Your daughter has talent.
  • I am awed by the passionate cry of pain in this work. Damp lashes is a beautiful way of describing tears. I have always loved sad poetry, it used to be all I wrote. The emotion is so much more damning, powerful, exquisite. The pleading to just be loved instead of thwarted and unneeded just bleeds on the page. The pain that we shed upon the altar of love is ceaselessly amazing to me. When she is gone, having moved on towards a new love, those boots that have caused so much damage will rot the foot of the wearer, and he will know the passion he could have had was so much sweeter than the passion he'll find in this when he reads it. What goes around, comes around. Beautiful poetry. Tell her I said so.
