Shirley Jane Temple was born April 23,1928 in Santa Monica, Calif. to George Francis Temple and Gertrude Amelia Krieger-Temple. She had two older brothers, John Standley born in 1915 and George F. jr born in 1917.

It was during the depression years that she came on the scene & she help make people forget the hard times they were going through. Shirley was the youngest person ever to appear on a magazine cover, the youngest to appear in Who's Who and the youngest to get an Academy Award.

She was the heroine of her time. Not only to the fans but also to the world's great.Eleanor Roosevelt and J Edgar Hoover visited her on the soundstages of 20th Century Fox.

On her eighth birthday (really her ninth) she recieved 135,000 presents from around the world.
