Grief is an overwhelming emotion.
How any one person handles this intense emotion
is strictly up to that individual.
I chose to use writing as a means of consolation.
I found that expressing myself on paper
helped me to deal with grief,
and minimize its devastation on ones soul.

This piece was written by me following the death of by beloved wife.

        THE SPLASH OF A TEAR

        When a tear falls, who is there to hear, as it lands with a splash;
        only one ear.

        No, not yours, or mine.
Only his, so divine, as he watches in pain
        those, that grieve in vain.

His plan of life is about to reveal for the loved one asleep,
as those who have gathered, in unison do weep.

The life after about to unfold,
for one of his flock as foretold,
will be filled with joy beyond belief,
so children rejoice and forget your grief.

A soul will travel the path as countless ones have before,
through the portals of time evermore.

With a destiny fulfilled and a future void of pain,
this loved one will meet the one,
whose splash of a tear, only, he can hear.
