Fall is my favorite time of the year.
I was inspired to write this piece as
I observed the changing colors of the
leaves, while bearing witness to acorns
            falling from towering Oaks Trees,
and observing the activity of Squirrels scampering
over the ground gathering their winter stores.

            FALL IS HERE

            The warm September breeze
caresses tops of the tallest trees,
            loosing Natures pride.

Acorns tumble through leaf and limb,
            to meet chattering Squirrels
            gathering the yield to hide.

            Reddish Orange and Golden leaves,
flash bright as the Sun's rays
highlight their ballet to the ground.

            The brisk feel of Fall
            with it's musky odor
            fills the air, and
            beauty is all around.

Dusk descends, and a strong breeze
cools the air as tall Oaks sway.
            Squirrels scamper to their nest
in preparation for the coming day.
