My name is R_ J_ P. My middle name comes from, from what I understand, Chief Joseph. My last name was made up by my Grandfather and Grandmother, who were both full-blooded Cherokee Indians. When my Father was born, it was changed to PAYTON. Unfortunately, my Granfather was shot and killed in 1954, in Dayton Ohio, leaving the true identity of my last name unknown. It is believed that somewhere down the line, I am related to Chief Joseph, from what I was told.My Father died years ago, and my Mother, who is a white woman, insists on not telling me the past for some unknown reason. With no luck in my research, I still have yet to find out anything on my Grandfather*s or Father*s past. The search continues.. Many Blessings....R-j-P
