
Eula Cooper, 91, Kingsport.
KINGSPORT - Eula Denton Cooper, 91, went home to the Lord Thursday (April 25, 2002) at Indian Path Hospital and Medical Center.
Mrs. Cooper was born in Cocke County, Tenn.
She was a member of Lynn Garden Baptist Church, the Lynn Garden Home Demonstration Club, and the Order of the Eastern Star, Liberty Chapter.
She was a graduate of Cocke County High School and later attended the University of Tennessee.
She enjoyed playing bingo and cards and was the 1992 Fun Fest Rook Tournmament grand champion.
She loved parades and only missed one 4th of July parade in 60 years.
She was a loving mother and grandmother.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles
Kermit Cooper of 42 years; a son, Wayne D. Cooper; three brothers, John Denton, Hal Denton and Warren Denton; and one sister, Beulah Wilds.
Surviving are a son, Don Cooper and wife, Reta, Blountville; a daughter, Kay Lyon and husband David, Kingsport; five grandchildren, Melissa Memoli, Amy Cooper, Travis Lyon, Martha Suronen and Shari Bessilieu; four great-grandchildren; one sister, Maggie Suttle; a special companion, Mamie Carberry; and several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours are from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Oak Hill Funeral Home.
Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday April 28 2002 at Lynn Garden Baptist Church with the Rev. Gale Hartley officiating.
Graveside services will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery.
