ERAS follows the earth from its lifeless beginning on through the evolution of life, the time and extinction of the dinosaurs, and ending in the era now when humans populate the earth. This evolution follows closely the Creation in the Book of Genesis in the Bible.

AGES shows the progression of man as his use for materials for tools and weapons changes.

PERIODS follows the times of man on earth and man's progression as he acquires knowlege of new ways of doing things, wars, styles of life, new beginnings, changes in ideas, and are as complicated as man himself.

Timelines are fascinating. There are gaps and overlaps and some of the important facts were omitted while some of the insignificant data was included.

The hard part turned out to be the easiest and the easy part turned out to be a terror.

This will suffice for now and be changed as I find sites I like better.

Also there's a chance more categories will be added.

There are all types of timelines, the hard part is grouping them in a logical order.

In the meantime I may make one of my own; haven't tried it yet but this looks like a neat tool:
