... most of us know about FlamingText and what wonderful banners you can create there but did you know they now have dingbats!? If you don't know what a dingbat is then I'll try to explain.. a dingbat is a picture font.. each picture being represented by a specific letter, number and/or symbol on your keyboard.. you CANNOT remove the dingbats images and you don't want to.. think of it as a something like a cookie cutter... just giving you the outline/guideline for a certain shape/picture that you will paint, manipulate or edit to achive a certain look... the above banner was made only using ONE letter in the alphabet... the capital letter "M" and the MIXED__ dingbat font, with "Alien Glow" banner style... the largest font size FlamingText will allow you to use is 100 (that's not large for a dingbat but is for a font) so you may want to take your finished image to Image Magick and resize it...
....here we will start out with something small and pretty.. afterwards I will show you some different looks you can achive... this is so easy you will be amazed! ...

.. as you can tell I'm partial to the "Alien Glow" effect ~for now~ and this rose really caught my eye.. this is going to be quick so pay attention :-) ...
... go to FlamingText and click on Fonts then click Dingbats .. you will see a single row of plain white and blue banners, each banner will have a few images across them to give you some idea of what that particular dingbat has to offer.. there are 7 pages of these so you have plenty to choose from... in this case I chose the 5th banner down: 4YEO Fonts - 4YEOVAL (mrn) - CharSet (this text is located just UNDER the banner I'm going to click) {if you would like to see what characters represent what in this particular dingbat try clicking the word "CharSet", this will take you to a banner that shows the pictures but I cannot see the images they are too small... maybe it's different for comp users I don't know} ... now click on the banner...
...the next page you are going to choose a banner style... click on to the jumpbox and scroll down to "Alien Glow"... now there are two choices below the jumpbox, click on the right gray button that reads: Press this button to see more options with this style... click "All Options" ...
... now you will see the Alien Glow banner and all the options ...
fill in the following
Text String: g (just a lower case letter g)
Font Size: 100
Glow Color: click on the color bar, then click on the color cube to pick your color (brights & lights work best here)
now click "Create Logo" ....
here is your result
... you can click on the finished image now and transload it or choose one of the many other options Flamingtext has to offer ~providing they are in working order~ ... wasn't that simple and quick?
here's just some of what else you can achive :-) you are more than welcome to take what you like but PLEASE transload or upload :-)
