History of the Grannies Web Pages

A young woman named Missy who used to post in Grannies set the site up. She stopped posting in Grannies when she began to have children. The site was very small. There were only a very few names of some regular posters on the roll call page. I had the password to the site since I helped her make a wedding page when Trudy had a mock wedding with a Halloween haunter. When she stopped posting, Glo asked me if I would update and maintain the site. Glo wasn't into making websites at that time. So I did some research on how to make websites. Then with some fear and trepidation, I began to update the roll call page. I added the info on all the regular posters and put them in alphabetical order for easier editing. Then I started working on the birthday and anniversary pages. It took me a very long time and lots of long nights to get it done. Some mornings I would meet Dave getting out of bed as I was going to bed. Haha. This was before we had CC&P. The html coding was grueling, typing each one over and over. Then of course spending hours looking for one little mistake in punctuation or spelling that kept the coding from working. Aaargh!!

When we had that huge influx of new posters after Grannies was featured on the home page (ca 2001), I asked Glo if she would help me keep the site updated. I just couldn't keep up with updating the roll call page and all the event pages. People were coming and going in Grannies like using a revolving door. So Glo took over keeping the roll call page updated, and I keep the event (birthdays & anniversaries) pages updated. We were concerned that Missy might some day delete the website since it is still in her name. So we cc&p the html of each page at the site to a site in my name. That way if the site is ever deleted, we have a back up. Wow, I didn't mean to write a history on the website.
