Do You Ever Stop Worrying About

BarbaraN 3/22 7444a
your kids? Our oldest son called us yesterday and said he was taking flying lessons. He travels all over the world, selling his earth moving equipment. So now, he wants to buy his own plane. I just wanted to say "You can't do that!!!" Guess you never stop worrying about your kids, no matter how old they are.

NO!!! You NEVER stop worrying! At 11pm every night before the news comes on there is a commercial that always asks, "It's 11 o'clock, do you know where your children are?". Most days I can say yes. The girls are home with their families, my oldest boy is usually home playing on his computer. But my youngest boy (James, age 24) is another question. I don't always know where he is! And sometimes it worries me. Even though he is 24 and a "good boy", I still can not go to sleep until I hear him come in the door.

I KNOW EXACTLY HOW YOU FEEL.I FELT THE SAME WAY LAST YEAR WHEN MY SON BOUGHT A HARLEY DAVIDSON MOTORCYCLE A WEEK BEFORE HIS 50TH.BIRTHDAY.I IMMEDIATELY BEGAN TO PREACH AGAINST IT,BEGGED HIM TO BUY A HELMET(WHICH HE DID) BUT SELDOM WEARS.HE DID NOT LISTEN IS GETTING IT OUT VERY SOON AS IT SAVES HIM SO MUCH ON GASOLINE.IT IS NOW $2.50 HERE.AT LEAST A PLANE I DON'THAVE TO WORRY ABOUT AS HE HATES FLYING-PAINS HIS EARS.IN ANSWER TO YOUR QUESTION YOU NEVER STOP WORRYING AND NOW I WORRY ABOUT THE GRANDS IN THEIR 20'S AND THE GREAT GRANDS COMING ALONG.MY OLDEST GREAT GRAND IS 16 ND GETS HIS DRIVER'S LICENSE THIS SPRING!

I dont think we ever do. Mine now show signs of worrying about ME at times. Maybe the Torch has been passed. Now that they are adults I have had to learn to bite my tongue & close my mouth somewhat on all the unasked for advice I want to hand out while I Worry LOL

Shirley Jean 3/22 1153a
Now we have added the grands & great grands worry over them.

Wayne 3/22 147p
The only time I don't worry about them is when I think they are in their own home safe and asleep.

I never stop worrying....I just put my son on a plane....headed to gitmo....gitmo is a safe place for the time being....but then ya worry he will go snorkeling and drown......it never ends.....

No you ever stop worrying, but we can't live their lives for them. I have 2 sons who drive hazmatt trucks (hazard materials). They drive long hours and on roads like we had this week end. Yes I do worry! They are 42 & 44 years old. But that is what they like to do.

Lee 3/22 640
You would not be a good parent if you ever stopped worrying about them. I just don't tell them how much I worry over them.

Kip 3/22 755p
I am quite sure that we will all worry about our children until we take our last breath --now, I have the grandchildren that I worry about too. There is just so much crime and violence out there; not to mention all the "perverts."
I imagine most of us never really expect a violent crime to happen to one of OUR family members. I know to well though that it does happen, as I lost a 29 year old niece (divorced Mommy of 2 boys) during an armed robbery where she worked. I know that being in a "safe" place doesn't guarantee safety, so I do a lot of praying; just like the rest of the grannies.

Carol 3/22 1109p
Boy, isn't that the truth. We never do quit mothering our children and worrying about them. Guess all we can do is cover them in prayer and support them to make wise decisions. Sounds like your son likes adventure.

Sarah 3/23 1136a I use to think that I would stop worrying about the girls when they got married and moved out. It didn't happen, I just got more to worry about.

Mary Jane 3/23 1222a
It never ends!! Kids seem to never stop doing things that worry us parents.

Mary Jane 3/23 1224a
I worry more about kids getting drivers license than most other things. Kayla will be 13 on the 31st. and it won't be long until she will reach that driving age. OMG, I'll never be ready for that.

Dorie 3/23 1200P
For sure, we never quit worrying about our kids, we wouldn't be MOTHERS Pattern if we did, right???

MJ 3/23 111p
AS LONG AS WE LIVE, WE WILL NEVER STOP WORRING ABOUT OUR KIDS, GRANDS, & GREAT GRANS. AS HAS ALREADY BEEN SAID, WE CAN'T LIVE THEIR LIVES FOR THEM EITHER. AS BAD AS I'D LIKE TO, SOMETIMES!!! ;^)

Janet 3/23 549p
NEVER! I am so thrilled when I hear that any of my family are coming to visit me but---I worry they will have an accident coming and worry until they call that they have arrived home safely when they leave! My son is 60 but I feel no differently than when he was walking to and from school!!! It is called "being a mother!"

Janet 3/23 602p
Your (Barbara) question about your daughter in law's opinion of his flying took me back many years! My brother took flying lessons with his wife not knowing because she would have objected. Due to mixed signals at this small airport, he took the plane up for his first solo, not knowing it wasn’t authorized. It made headlines, though he made a perfect flight and landing, because they called out the trucks and foam! When Alice read the paper, there it was complete with his picture!!!!

Janet 3/23 614p
As I said, I never stopped worrying but I do know how useless it is. My son and Joanne always had motorcycles, which have scared me to death. All that worry and I watched cancer take her life and the motorcycle sits in their garage bright and shiny! Never an accident but now I know it would have been better had she lost her life doing something she loved. This was taken last year! Forgive a sad mother if I bore you.

Darlene 3/23 933p
You (Janet) never bore us! We are just glad to be here for you. We share your sadness. You talk about your Joanne all you want. Wish I could give you a hug! So here is a cyber hug!
(((((((((((((((((((((HUG)))))))))))))))))

Mary Jane 3/23 1132p
You (Janet) never bore us. It is good to talk about your daughter. Let her be alive in memory and sharing, it's better than not hearing about her at all. IMO.... God Bless you.

Eileen 3/24 547a
I found out that worry won't change what is, so I gave it up.
I just turn it over to "God" and let go.
What is-is.

Barbara 3/24 911a
That is not boring and my heart goes out to you!

†Shirley 3/24 143p
WE NEVER FORGET OUR LOVED ONES AND AS LONG AS WE TALK ABOUT THEM THEY ARE STILL ALIVE TO US!

Susan 3/24 343p
Janet,
Here's another big ((((((((((((((((HUG))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))
sharing your love for Joanne by telling us about her is a blessing.
thank-you
