Our first one was a 1929 Model "A" Ford coupe with a rumble seat.. Ohh, what fun we had in that jalopy...took it on our Honeymoon, to Niagara Falls...all of 75 miles from home, and worried about it till we got it back in "home territory"....

When Don & I were married, he had a blue DeSoto convertible. Can't remember the year. Oh, this is too much for my brain to figure out. We bought a new Chevy in 1950. I THINK.

Ours was a white 1957 Chevrolet Bel-Air. She glowed in the moon light. I painted in Gothic scrip "Moon Glow" on her fins. We paid $52 per month for that car. I wish I had her back because she was the best car we ever owned.

When Dave and I got married, he had a '54 Desoto. He used to have to start it somehow using the lid of his cigarette lighter under the hood. It leaked so much oil, that he always carried a case of oil in the trunk. When I was pregnant with our first daughter, reverse went out on the car. We had to be careful not to pull in someplace that would require backing out. I seldom drove the car, but took it to a doctor's appointment one day. You guessed it. I pulled into a parking space that had no way out back backwards!!!!!!

1973 capri sports car....fire engine red. My daddy helped with the down payment and my payments were only $70.00 a month. It was a stolen car confiscated by the police and sold at an auction. It was bought by a local ford dealer. It did not have power steering and was a devil to turn around and backing out. As I got used to it, the steering wasn't so bad. It no power anything except for the brakes. I loved that car to pieces. Bill was driving it one Saturday afternoon and a man ran a stop sign and smashed it up good. Had it fixed and traded it in on a 1975 chrysler cordoba, silver with maroon interior.

I had forgotten, had to ask my hubby. It was a 38 Buick that had been at the Chicago Auto Show. The undercarriage was all painted with cream paint. How could I forget that. CRS is creeping in. Blessings

Carol I laughed at the backing up. Cliff bought a Volkswagon and it was from Germany so all of the gear markings were German. Anyway, I did not know you had to push the gearshift down into the console and then down. I parked right up next to a curb flower box. When one of the kids I knew pulled up, I said, How do you get this into reverse. He looked at me like : how did you get here lady. LOL Blessings

I never had a car until I was married. It belonged to my husband. It was a black Ford. About a 1950 or '51 I think.

My first car was a '49 or '50 Ford, can't remember just which. That was back in 1957.Daddy was going to co-sign for me.I found a real pretty red convertible that I wanted, but he picked out the Ford and told me that the convertible wasn't a good enough car and if he was going to co-sign I was going to get the Ford or nothing. LOL It was a very good smooth running car,but I thought it looked like an " OLE GRANNY'S CAR". LOL I wanted the pretty red convertible.I didn't care if it was any good or not,all I knew was it was pretty.LOL Now I wish I had that 'OLE GRANNY LOOKING Ford.
